Volunteer Opportunities thru Public Service Committee

The Public Service Committee seeks volunteers for its many upcoming activities:

**Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen – The Public Service Committee has just committed to a third evening a month for NHCBA members to serve dinner at the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen. Volunteers are needed in September on Thursday, 9/24, from 5:30-7:30pm. Other dates include 10/27, 10/29, 11/24, and 12/22.

If you, or someone you know, is able to help on these or future dates, please contact NHCBA coordinator Bill Aseltyne at bill.aseltyne@ynhh.org or 203-688-5152. Non-members welcome, have your firm take a date!

**New Haven Diaper Bank – every month NHCBA members and law firms collect diapers and other infant supplies for this local group. Contact Steve Rosenberg (sprosenberg@littler.com) for details or to sign up your law firm.

**Foreclosure Volunteers -- The Connecticut Fair Housing Center, in conjunction with Neighborhood Housing Services ("NHS") in New Haven, is now holding weekly foreclosure prevention clinics for homeowners every Monday evening at 6:00 pm at NHS (333 Sherman Ave.). Although the presentation starts around 6:00 pm, the individual breakout sessions between the volunteer lawyers and homeowners do not start until around 6:45 pm. Please contact NHS to volunteer or for more information. www.nhsofnewhaven.org, (203) 562-0598.
